REVEAL - The empowerment of Appropriation Art:

Have you ever heard the familiar phrases "I can't paint" or "I can't even draw a stick figure" repeated countless times? It's a sentiment shared by many. However, it's important to remember that every creative journey has to start somewhere. Even renowned artists like Goya, Picasso, and Campendonk began by emulating the works of their predecessors, such as Diego Velazquez, Braque, and Kandinsky, respectively. As a self-taught artist, I too learned from these great masters.

Copying art demonstrates that the notion of an original idea stemming from a single genius is a myth. Even the most impeccable copy will never truly be identical to the original because its context is always evolving. Furthermore, since we exist within the framework of history, our perspective is constantly evolving as well.

With this in mind, I present to you the REVEAL exhibit—an empowering showcase that encourages anyone to embark on their own artistic journey. It aims to demonstrate that everyone has the capacity to paint, as long as it is approached with wholeheartedness and purpose. REVEAL features 30 of my oil paintings, which chronicle my progression from studying the masters to creating my very own original works of art.
